TUNIS / TUNISIA – The number of tourists staying in hotels in Tabarka and Ain Draham increased by 413% to 13,200 in November 2021 compared to the same period last year.
Similarly, the number of overnight stays jumped 385% to 23,822.
A significant increase in arrivals has been announced from January to November 2021, compared to the same period last year, according to the report of the local tourism commission in Tabarka.
120,000 tourists stayed in the region’s hotels, registering an increase of 44%. The number of overnight stays reached 249,000, an increase of 39% through the end of November 2021.
Issa Marouani, commissioner of local tourism in Tabarka, told TAP that this rise is due to the improvement in the epidemiological situation and the preventive measures taken by the tourist units.
The official also highlighted the diversity of tourism products offered by the region, which helped out of tourism related to classic hotels, to develop tourism related to mountains, environment, sports, fishing and spa.
