RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Almost two weeks before New Year’s Eve, the entire network of hotels in the city of Rio de Janeiro is booked out. According to data from the Rio de Janeiro Hotel Association (ABIH-RJ), New Year’s Eve 2021 to 2022 looks better than the past two years, including 2019, before the pandemic, which closed at 88% occupancy.
In 2020, with more restrictive measures in place in the city, hotels have booked 70% of rooms. ABIH- Chairman of Royal Jordanian Board of Directors, Alfredo Lopez, says the numbers are good and the moment is full of hope for the sector.
