Police raid hotels, arrest 21 for consuming liquor in Patna

Deputy Inspector of Police (Law and Order), Sanjay Kumar said, “Saturday night, the police launched a special campaign and carried out raids in 23 districts of Patna against liquor consumers and liquor suppliers, in which the police arrested 21 persons including two doctors, four law students from different universities, an owner of Hotel. Police arrested four law students from Rajiv Nagar districts who had come for a wedding party and were found drinking liquor.”

DSP said police also arrested two doctors, one of whom is a female doctor, from a hotel affiliated with Kotwali Police Station. He added, “All 21 people were sent to prison after the rescue reports were filed at Kotwali Police Station on Sunday morning.”

Police said they have arrested a Bhagalpur resident doctor who is currently working in Ranchi and his girlfriend Dr. from Maharashtra who came to Patna for their interview at AIIMS. But a police officer said they have now been sent to prison.

Amit Kumar, ASP (town) said the police arrested seven people after raiding three hotels under Gandhi Maidan Police Station. “The police raid will continue in Patna,” he added.

Kankarbagh police raided more than 10 hotels and arrested six software engineers who were identified as Rohit Kumar from Hyderabad, Anil Kumar, Kanchan Kumar Singh from New Delhi, Anand Mandal, Vineet Jaiswal from Kolkata, Kanchan Kumar Singh from New Delhi and Vikas Kumar from New Delhi.
