Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, has announced nine new launches for 2022, welcoming it to its global portfolio of unique hotels, resorts and residences.
From a contemporary ski resort on the slopes of Utah to a national landmark turned luxury design hotel in Oslo, each of these new urban getaways, beach resorts, and historic getaways will offer travelers authentic, personalized experiences and invite them to reconnect with inspiring destinations and local cultures as they dust off their passports and set off on New adventures.
New opening highlights within Preferred Hotels and Resorts 2022 include:
Pendry Park City (Utah, US) – Launching January 2022
Located in the heart of Canyons Village on Park City Mountain, Pendry Park City’s amazing skiing and snowboarding will provide a modern experience at a traditional alpine lodge. Paying homage to the surrounding mountainous landscape, the resort will boast warm natural design elements that create a contemporary, open feel, and will feature 153 rooms, suites, and residences, each offering floor-to-ceiling windows and curated artwork. Passalacqua (Lake Como, Italy) – Launching June 2022
Built in the 18th century by Count Andrea Lucini-Pasalacqua, Passalacqua sits on the shores of Lake Como and has hosted historical leaders from Napoleon Bonaparte to Winston Churchill. The sister property of the iconic Grand Hotel Tremezzo, an ultra-luxury and grandiose mansion, will extend to 24 elegant suites designed and curated by one of Italy’s most famous hotel families – Paolo, Antonella and Valentina De Santis. Committed to preserving its heritage, Passalacqua will showcase original features, including hidden walkways, centuries-old beamed pavilions in forgotten stables, and greenhouses with ancient fruit trees. The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong (Hong Kong) – Summer 2022 launch
Located in Hong Kong’s Southside area, home to the famous Victoria Harbor and the city’s famous Ocean Park, the eco-friendly oceanfront resort is the much-anticipated next international launch of The Fullerton Hotels & Resorts. The luxury hotel – ideal for couples, friends, single visitors, extended families and business travelers – will offer 425 rooms and suites overlooking the South China Sea, including kid-themed rooms and two signature suites with private pools. BERLIN (Berlin, Germany) – Kick off Summer 2022
Located in the city’s trendy Friedrichshain district, Berlin’s coolest new hotel will be housed in four modern buildings, interconnected via open courtyard spaces and a stunning 2,368-square-foot greenhouse. Comprising 150 rooms and suites, some with private balconies, Berlin’s interiors will showcase a blend of nature and urban culture, featuring solid oak, Italian serpentine, stainless steel, and brutal concrete accents. A lively restaurant and bar, complete with an open kitchen and barbecue area, will embrace the natural light of the greenhouse amidst an abundance of greenery.
Someru (Oslo, Norway) – kick-off September 2022
Recreating a restored 1930s landmark in Frogner, a historic neighborhood in Oslo’s West End, Sommerro celebrates Norwegian design, fusing form and function as the city’s first hotel in an original Art Deco building. Set to be Norway’s largest-ever conservation project, the hotel occupies the former headquarters of the capital’s electric company, Oslo Lisverker and, through a multi-million dollar renovation, will become a modern tribute to local cultural heritage. Original artwork by famed Norwegian artist Per Krohge is displayed throughout the hotel, with pieces including a giant fresco and ceiling mural that reference the building’s unique history.
