Rental management platform Vacasa has added a new member to its board of directors, while the California Hotel and Residence Association elected its new leadership.
Vacasa appoints Barbara Messing to Council
Vacasa revealed that Barbara Messing is expected to join the company’s board of directors as an independent director upon the successful completion of her business merger with TPG Pace Solutions, a special purpose acquisition firm.
She currently serves as Head of Marketing and People Experience at Roblox and as a member of the Board of Directors for Overstock, where she has helped guide each of the technology-enabled platforms through various stages of growth. Previously, she was Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer of Walmart US and SVP/Chief Marketing Officer of Tripadvisor.
Messing plans to join Vacasa’s board of directors as an independent director upon closing the company’s deal with TPG Pace Solutions, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
CHLA elects a new board of directors
The California Hotel and Residence Association (CHLA) elected its 2022 Board of Directors during its annual meeting on November 18 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.
Tom Patton, Managing Director/Partner, Ramada by Wyndham Santa Barbara takes over as Chairman of the 2022 CHLA Board of Directors, with Bijal Patel, CEO/Principal Partner, Coast Redwood Hospitality, who becomes the immediate former Chairman. Patton will be supported by Vice President Hee Won Lim, General Manager, Pacific Palms Hotel, and Secretary/Treasurer Dhruv Patel, President/Operating Director, Ridgemont Hospitality.
The board also voted to add Kristi Allen, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, Ensemble Real Estate Solutions and Investments; Matt Humphries, Vice President/District General Manager, Hyatt Regency San Francisco; and Perry Patel, Partner, BPR Hotels as new members of the Board of Directors and renewing the terms of nine of the Board members with their expiration dates.

CBRE ADD TO ME IN ASIA
CBRE has appointed Chris Ealy as Head of Hotel Asset Management in Asia.
Headquartered in Singapore, he leads CBRE hotel asset management and operator selection within the Capital Markets team. His role includes working with clients to unlock value from hotel and hospitality assets, enhancing profitability and aligning stakeholders behind investment objectives.
Eli has joined an expanding team of hotel industry veterans at CBRE and will be part of the Asia Pacific Hotel and Hospitality Leadership Committee.
He has over 20 years of experience as a Hotel Administrator and Asset Manager. He was most recently Vice President of Business Development and Asset Management, Next Story Group (NSG), where he was responsible for developing and implementing NSG’s regional development plans. He also oversaw asset management for the NSG Hotels portfolio which included assets across Australia and Southeast Asia including co-working spaces. Prior to that, he held senior management positions at JLL, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and Jumeirah Group.
