With increased tourism in Gallatin County, the need for hotels continues to rise and a new development south of the airport is now looking to meet this need.
A new 4-story, 120-room hotel is now under construction south of Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.
“This type of hotel is geared towards a healthy lifestyle,” said Mike Elliott, CEO of ERES Companies.
The hotel, which is scheduled to open in late 2022, comes at a time of increasing tourism to Gallatin County and the surrounding area.
“I travel a lot and go to and leave the airport every week, and it was very clear to me the need for an airport hotel,” Elliott said.
The hotel will become one of the closest of its kind to the airport located about a mile away on Airport Road; The other hotels on Jackrabbit Lane are located about a mile and a half from the airport.
“Bozeman and Belgrade have done very well over the last couple of years; in fact, COVID has driven up demand, which is why we saw more supply in the market,” says Elliott.
As the busiest airport in Montana with more than 1.5 million passengers, it has already broken its traffic record since 2019. Elliott who lives in Bozeman says he understands the need to balance development and tourism.
“I understand that this is our market and we hope to do something to benefit everyone local but also develop something that people fly to internationally,” says Elliott.
The hotel is part of the Yellowstone Plaza development at the intersection of I-90 and Airport Road.
