Itc Hotels Goes Aggressive In New Properties Rollout

ITC’s rollout of new properties at a time when the country is seeing optimism about economic recovery and travel is strategic and part of the structural interventions in the company’s business model to stay competitive as the industry recovers from the COVID pandemic, a major company official said Tuesday.

The official said ITC Hotels is pursuing the right asset strategy while at the same time leveraging the property of the world-class ITC to drive growth. He said its Welcomhotel brand has been modernized and has received encouraging interest from property owners.

The pandemic has given us the opportunity to reimagine the business model and come out stronger. Structural interventions are put in place to enable new revenue streams along with robust cost management at both the strategic and tactical levels. Anil Chadha, CEO of ITC Hotels, told PTI that innovative offerings as part of a new strategy such as the at-home fine dining experience The Gourmet Couch have already gained huge popularity.

ITC Hotels announced the signing of ‘Mementos Shimla’ a few days after it announced the start-up of Mementos Jaipur, which was the company’s second ‘Mementos’ brand property in Rajasthan after Udaipur, the official said.

He said Storii, another brand in the company’s recently launched premium segment, is looking to offer curated travel experiences to new travelers.

“Mementos” will be a luxury property starting with about 100 rooms, while the Storri will consist of 15 to 50 rooms. The flexibility built into these models will allow enough room to consider their characteristics for their own unique experiences.

Mementos Shimla is built on 10 acres with a total of 297 rooms, including 40 four-bedroom villas each. The luxurious villas of 200 square meters offer a wonderful view of the valley and are ideally suited to accommodate large families and friends.
